First and foremost, I consider myself to be a creative person.
For as long as I can remember, my days have been filled with stories, music, visual art, and “tinkering”. I’ve always loved making & fixing all kinds of things … or at least trying to.

I’m always looking for better, more enjoyable ways to do things. Deep down, I suppose I’m lazy. I’m lazy enough to know there’s always a better, quicker, more enjoyable way to get the job done. I’m lazy enough to know that intense short-term, creative effort, saves long-term, stressful effort.

I’m also lazy enough to know that things must be done well, so that they don’t have to be redone.

During nearly six decades of life, this innate, creative restlessness has led me to wander through many fields. I’ve literally been a soldier, a sailor, a tinkerer … TV cameraman, restaurant manager, computer programmer, car salesman, network administrator, teacher, business owner, photographer, graphic designer, and more. I’ve worked in small businesses, corporations, churches, non-profits, and as a one-man business. I’ve studied video production, music, photography, most areas of IT, business management, coaching & counselling, theology, philosophy, education, creativity, and communication.

For most of my life, I thought of myself as a Jack-of-all-trades, but master of none. More recently however, I realised what was true all along … a much more positive self-view.

I am a “master” of creativity.

I’m persistently curious, wildly imaginative, and rigorously analytical. Thinking should always occur both inside and outside of the box.

My excitement for learning new things, and thinking in different ways, translates into an ability to communicate, inspire, teach, and coach others. Over the last ten years I’ve focused on studying, understanding, internalising, and applying creativity.

I have come to see that creativity is an innate element of human existence. All people are creative. Sadly, creativity has, for too long been conflated and confused with artistic ability. This has led far too many people to believe that they are not creative.

My primary goal is the expression of my own wide-ranging creativity, while helping others to realise and develop their own creativity.
